Not only is this a subtle way to add a little pizazz to your manicure, but it’s also super-subtle, fun and easy. All you need is a skintone or beige-y polish, a bright (or coloured neutral) and a toothpick.
Naked Nail Art How To:
- Swipe nail polish remover over your nails and paint on a base coat.
- Layer on your skintone or beige polish until it is opaque (I used two coats of Deboarah Lippmann’s Fashion). Let it dry.
- Take your bright/colored neutral polish and let a few drops puddle onto a sheet of paper. (I used China Glaze. Push the pointed end of your toothpick against a hard surface to make it blunt.
- Dip the blunt end of the toothpick into the puddle of polish and stamp the dots onto your nail. I did a vertical row of dots in different positions on each nail, but you could also try it horizontally along the tips or base.
- Let the dots rest for a minute or two and brush on a quick-drying, high-shine topcoat (I used Deborah Lippmann’s Addicted to Speed).
What color will your polka dots be?
